With reference to hormonal and brain differences, the authors show why men and women prefer different types of job and are better suited to certain types of activity. Despite a tendency to overstate the point at times, and a lack of detail in some research references, the book contains a plethora of useful and fascinating insights.
Differences in approaches to sex and relationships are discussed, as well as spatial awareness and co-ordination, child development and choice of occupations. And most importantly for today’s high relationship failure rate - differing communication styles are examined in depth.
Men in particular will benefit from understanding the female need for speech and conversation, whilst women may understand a little more about mens' insatiable appetite for problem-solving.
Whilst not agreeing with everything asserted by the authors, I refuse to throw the baby out with the bathwater on this one. Set your brain to ‘semi-sceptical' read and enjoy!
